luke 10:38-42 shares a story of mary and martha - martha was a woman who dealt with a lot of stress and her mind was constantly consumed by worry and fear. mary was also a woman who dealt with the same, but the difference was that she chose to sit at the feet of Jesus. despite her struggles, mary knew that Jesus had her. and He has you, too.

God is the Prince of Peace. He desires for His children to lay our burdens and sit at His feet. He calls us beyond our fears and draws us into His perfect peace. today, choose to take a deep breathe, confide in Him, and rest in His unchanging goodness and unfailing love for you 🤍

from the very beginning when God created this worl

from the very beginning when God created this world, He had a plan. for day and night, heavens and earth, land and sea, sun and moon, birds and fish, animals and humans, He always had a plan. and just 4 verses into His Word, we see that He likes His plan and calls it “good”. and near the end of creation, He calls His plan “very good”.

God had a plan for us even before we were in our mother’s womb. jeremiah 1:5 says “before i shaped you in the womb, i knew all about you. before you saw the light of day, i had holy plans for you”.

He knows the hairs on your head, the thoughts in your mind, and the hours that you will live on this earth. He would not give such attention to details merely by chance. God has plans for you, and they are good.

His plan is good because of the purpose it will serve, the hope it will give, and the lives it will save. but really, it is good simply because He calls it so.

i struggled with this for the longest time. i found myself constantly questioning if i was wasting my life because it didnt reflect a life im proud of. i admit that i often link my accomplishments with my identity, and this often lead me falling short of my true God-given purpose in life. the right thing to do is to bring glory to Him because there is no one greater who is worthy of trust, adoration and worship.

“if we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the

“if we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and He will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. but even if He does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” - daniel‬ ‭3:17-18 (NIV‬‬)

God can save us from this but if He does not, we will still love Him and He is still good. needless to say king neb was unhappy. the 3 are thrown into a fiery furnace, but they emerge unscathed - without a single hair on their head burnt. nebuchadnezzar is impressed and he promotes the 3 to important public positions and emphatically praises their God.

i love this story because sometimes, the answers we get when we pray are hard to swallow and the road we must travel is not an easy one. sometimes we may feel we are being dropped in a fiery furnace. but regardless of the things of this world we must go through, He is still good - even when our circumstances are not. our circumstances are not going to change what Jesus has done for us.

when we think about the creation of the universe,

when we think about the creation of the universe, we often forget how mind-blowing it actually is. its easy to forget that God created the heavens and the earth in 7 days, and that the universe was formed immediately when God spoke life into it.

when we think about the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, they are all here because God wanted them to be. the trees outside your window and the clouds above you are, again, perfectly created by our heavenly Father. crazy, right?

the lyrics to “so will i (100 billion x)” by hillsong worship talks about the beauty of God’s creation.

everything that God has created was made to display His beauty and power. the stars, the mountains, the oceans, the wind.. they are all formed with distinct differences and purposes. this includes us. God created us like He created the stars in the sky - each uniquely different, even among the other 7 billion people on this planet.

if God would take the time to make each star in the sky unique and perfect, why would He not do the same for you? even the smallest details were perfectly hand crafted by our heavenly Father. pretty crazy when you think about it!

sorrow may come in the darkest night but the cross

love is a person, and that is God 💛

taking a journey through corinthians 13, we discover the Person of love, and how, through Him, we can love others better.

we are commanded by Jesus to love one another and to love those who don’t love us in return, we can only do one thing - love others.

the “love” here doesnt mean the earthly, selfish, conditional love that most of us have grown up with, but the ultimate expression of love (called agape in greek language). its the love that’s unconditional, or self-sacrificing (aka sacrificial love). this sacrificial love, can be perfectly seen in the cross that Jesus bore.

those moments when we say “Lord, i cant, but You

those moments when we say “Lord, i cant, but You can”. ive had many of those moments. i felt weak, although as human, my pride doesnt want to admit it.

those moments, we all face them. instances where we tried to break a habit, but failed. when we tried to change a circumstance, but failed. when we tried to take problems into our hands and try to solve it, but failed. some of us, only when we met failure, then we learn that we cant, but God can, and He is greater than our problems, our bad habits, our struggles.

He is greater than all things. His strength is made perfect in your weakness. in times when you feel what seems impossible to overcome, God will make it possible and work in you, through you and for you.

its astounding that the creator of the whole universe knows you. and even more astounding that He wants to hear from you.

when we call on the Lord, let us set our minds on seeking the truth. although understandable that we call on God for a certain answer we want, we should learn to seek Him for His best answer.

when paul wrote his letter to the romans (and gotten through chapter 11), he was forced to stop and praise God. His ways are far above our ways, and its a privilege for believers to learn what he has revealed about himself. every time we truly grow in our knowledge of Him, we will be like paul, praising God for his “unsearchable” ways.

its a blessing to become a believer who studied the Word of God enough to realize there is a great deal that we “do not know” because this understanding will lead to total surrender. what we cannot know, we dont need to know. we know God knows it all, and that is enough to trust Him and let Him be in charge.

but the Lord stood with her and strengthened her -

so many things happened over the last month and i felt so distant from God. i questioned “why did He let me go through that kind of pain? why now, when the pandemic is already making life so difficult?”. i felt that God didnt care or love me. but i was so wrong.

God showed His love for me through others. i got in touch with some friends whom i havent contacted for months. some church sisters gave me a listening ear and reminded me of God’s love and prayed for me. my bestfriend called me and let me cry to her for hours. a church brother sent me his sermon notes because i took a break from online service. some friends helped me out with my studies. some of my group mates even help carry my responsibility as a leader and allowed me to go off earlier to rest. my sisters got me to join them as they bake so that my mind could rest. all those actions, were acts of love.

im still hurting, but God knows what im going through, He knows what circumstances im dealing with, and that there was a lot of pain. He doesnt always still the storm around me. He is strengthening me in ways that i cannot see right now, but He’s always there, and always fighting with me. and that is true for those of you who are also struggling right now. 💪🏻💛
